Bara D. Coulibaly

Founder and Executive Director

Bara Coulibaly is a dedicated altruist committed to human welfare who believes deeply in the equality of all lives. She views the life of a fisherman as equal to that of a president, and rural existence as equally valuable as urban living.

Recognizing that developing nations often prioritize urban healthcare over rural regions, she established Safe Hospitals Africa — a non-profit dedicated to decreasing maternal and infant mortality while reducing infectious disease transmission in rural hospitals across Côte d’Ivoire, and ultimately throughout Africa.

Bara serves with Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care in the Drugs and Devices Division. Previously she spent over a decade in the financial sector, focusing on life insurance, medical insurance and investments. She holds an undergraduate degree in Logistics from Côte d’Ivoire and an MBA from the Ecole Supérieure de Communication et de Gestion in Belgium.
